ISAAC AKO SOWA (b.1978, Ghanaian)

Sowa’s contribution to the exhibition visually narrates his memories growing up and the daily life of his community. His works depict traditional African village scenes with dynamic color and a focus on communal rhythms. Blending realism and expressionism, Sowa captures the essence of Ghanaian rural life and landscapes. He brings traditional chores and architecture to life, evoking emotion. His art reflects African folktale narratives and explores postcolonial themes of identity and history.
