EDMUND KWAME GBAFAH (b.1977, Ghanaian)

Edmund’s contribution to the exhibition draws inspiration from the Anlo Hogbetsotso Festival, a key cultural event for the Anlo Ewe people of the Volta Region. The festival commemorates their migration from Notsie (in present-day Togo) to Ghana and signifies “renewal of ancestral allegiance.” The event features traditional rituals, drumming and dancing, promoting unity and preserving Anlo heritage. The paintings capture the festival’s energy, showcasing the cultural legacy of the Anlo people.
